Emergency Week..

Whew!…it’s quite a disturbing week and hopefully the circumstances won’t extend anymore.
Last week my wife complain about chest pains due to her diagnosed mitral valve prolapse that seems to be bothering her frequently for the past days. As we went to our company doctor, he promptly refers us to a specialist to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The specialist prescribed a medicine in which our company doctor reluctantly agree. (I noticed). After taking the medicine for a day or two, I noticed that my wife is complaining more frequent chest pains and shortness of breath. I immediately relayed it to our company doctor and he told me to stop the prescribed medicine at once. It turn out that the said specialist had somewhat made an error in his diagnosis (based from what had transpired) because he prescribed a medicine that will decrease the heart rate of my wife which is contrary to the result of the 2D Echo we took, that shows a low heart rate count. Kaya pala parang humahabol ng hangin ang asawa ko at sobrang baba ng blood pressure nya. ( that’s why my wife is having a hard time breathing and has a low blood pressure as well). Grrrrr! My wife’s heart nearly stopped beating due to this. My God! And I’m praying for more patience and understanding right that moment because I can sense that my BP is fast rising due to this. Praise God that damage is only minimal, just the expenses and not my wife’s life. God Is Soo Good!

A day later my youngest daughter got an on & off fever ranging from 38 – 40 degrees centigrade, We’ve given her paracetamol but fever persisted after approximately four hours, so we decided to confine her to hospital for a round o' clock observation. I asked for an economy room and they told me that it is being prepared. After a while the guy went back to say that no economy room is available. So I asked for the next type but still none accordingly. I find it strange somehow that the hospital is obviously leading (manipulating) me to get a room with a higher rate, because I later found out that there’s plenty of vacant room upstairs, kaya pala walang nagpapa-confine don eh, sobra ng mahal maningil nagmimilit pa ng room na mahal. (so that’s the reason why very few want to be admitted there, not only because of skyrocket charges but also the manipulation being practiced.) I threw a convicting and piercing look to the guy who says there is no cheaper room available. I just let it go and shifted my attention to my ailing baby before my BP rise and eventual unwanted sitaution could erupt. Thanks goodness I have my insurance ready for this kind of situation.

Well, I really don’t know why my Lord allowed it to happen but indeed, and I honestly believe that it’s for my moulding…..for there are blessings in trials and trials in blessings, whatever it maybe…….God is good! And that’s all the time!

Have a blessed day…..

Wisdom from a Fifth Grader Goalie.

Quite a story that has been told and retold until it reached me. An eye opener and a conviction worth sharing and emulating...

One father shared......

I have really enjoyed your devotionals about soccer. I, too, remember when my daughter started in first grade. Usually, she was the goalie. Mostly she was a ballerina. She couldn’t prevent the other team from scoring unless she was in the middle of a very intense dance routine like pirouetting, doing the arabesque or practicing her positions. To all of this, her coach would just laugh. We had that coach for four years and I think patience is probably his best virtue.

This year, our coach was different. He is a former military man. He is fierce, disciplined, unforgiving and unfortunately, extremely sarcastic and belittling. Great for marines, I suppose. Not so great for fifth grade girls. But, we stuck it out, kept our mouths shut, and counted down the weeks until the season was over. After our final game, I stared in amazement as my daughter, who really disliked this man, went to him and thanked him for taking the time to coach her. I couldn't believe it. She had endured his insults, ridicule and snide remarks. I asked her why she had done that, and she said that maybe he was not nice because no one had been nice to him.

From the mouth of a fifth grader comes incredibly simple wisdom. Almost always this is the case. Abusers have been abused. Oppressors have been oppressed. The neglected become neglectful. How else do we know what to do? We have been trained in our vices.

Two lessons here: 1) Realize how important it is to treat people well. 2) Realize that those who err in their own handling of relationships have most likely had poor examples from which to learn. This is not an excuse for bad behavior, but it does help to understand and break the cycle. When possible, it helps to give a different response than what a poor attitude typically engenders.

How about that? Shining light isn't it?
Have a blessed day!

Practice Peace...

Peace everybody, 'just want to share a peaceful piece I found in my files as I was browsing. 'Hope it could give you peaceful day!!

A peaceful response is a powerful response. Before you speak, before you act, before you respond, consider a calm and peaceful way to do so.
There is almost always a way to say what you have to say in a peaceful, compelling manner. And when you do, you have a much better chance of being heard and understood.

Whatever you have to accomplish, seek a way to get it done peacefully and respectfully. By so doing, you'll pave the way for even greater accomplishments.

When you live and think and act peacefully, you'll find a world of people eager to support your efforts. When your life is filled with peaceful moments, your mind is much more positively focused and your work is much more effective.

Every day you'll come across situations where you can add real value by introducing a calm and peaceful tone. Even a small bit of peacefulness has the power to profoundly change things for the better.

Let yourself be strong enough and confident enough to practice peace on a daily basis. You'll quickly make your world a better place.
